Let’s play a game of 'Kiss Marry Kill' with your own book heroes

I’d kiss Wyatt, the hot surfer from The Wrong Mr. Right, because I still have a massive crush on him.

I’d marry Jamie, the grumpy goalie from Behind the Net, because he’s endlessly sweet, supportive, and protective.

I’d try to kill Finn, the tattooed firefighter from Finn Rhodes Forever, because he’d think it was hilarious and it would probably turn into spicy times!

Your heroines, which one is most likely to  a) bring world peace b) rescue a puppy c) wake up not quite knowing where she is d) couldn’t be bothered to fill out our questionnaire?

Pippa from Behind the Net would headline a charity concert and use her platform for good!

Avery from That Kind of Guy would absolutely bring a puppy home, but I need to give a special shoutout to Jamie from Behind the Net because he rescues a stray, Daisy, in Chapter 1.

Sadie, my cheerful, fun-loving party girl from In Your Dreams, Holden Rhodes, would wake up not knowing where she is, but her grumpy, protective Holden would be right there with her.

Liv from Finn Rhodes Forever is my grumpy bartender turned forestry scientist, and she ignores most of her emails.

Which secondary character of yours really deserves their own book, but was done dirty by you?

I get asked every. single. day. about Dr. Beck Kingston! He appears in the Queen’s Cove series, and he will DEFINITELY get his own book.

What would you like to see more in romance books?

I love seeing couples laugh together! The spicy stuff is super fun to read, but I love watching a couple become really close friends throughout the book, because that’s where all the good relationship stuff is.

If you could retire one romance book trope once and for all, which one would it be?

Oh, boy. I don’t know if I could choose. There are few tropes that aren’t for me (ahem, bully trope), but I love that romancelandia has something for everyone!

3 romance authors you are secretly upset with because they are so darn good?

Ruby Dixon’s heroines are so relatable, her heroes are incredibly sweet and protective, and the stories are just so fun to read and sink into.

Alexis Hall’s Boyfriend Material is one of my favourite rom-coms of all time. He is just so freaking hilarious, and yet his characters are so heartbreakingly real and lovely.

Nikki Payne’s wit is sharp and her characters are genuine. Her book Pride and Protest was one of the best books I read last year, and I am straight up JEALOUS.

Which one of your books would you recommend to a new reader?

If you like hockey, start with Behind the Net, a grumpy-sunshine, boss vs assistant romance. If you like small town rom-coms and want to sink into the world of Queen’s Cove, start with That Kind of Guy, a fake-engagement, reverse grumpy sunshine, boy-obsessed rom-com.

Describe you latest book in a 3 word alliteration

Slow burn (sorry, 2 words!!), spicy, swoony.
