The Trouble with Lighthouses by June Woods
Most women dream of marriage proposals… Lillie Parker dreads them

It happened again. Just when her romantic life was chugging along smoothly, Lillie’s partner ruins things. Marcus’s eloquent proposal on a bended knee conjures only one emotion in Lillie – pure panic.

This is the third proposal Lillie has run away from, and she’s beginning to wonder if the problem may not be with the men - maybe it’s something lacking in herself.

Lillie decides an impromptu vacation is called for, to escape both Michigan’s chilly weather and the looming specter of an unanswered proposal. She heads to Breakwater Bay to think things over, and the sunny skies and ocean breezes soothe her troubled heart.

When Lillie meets Victor Berry, the gruff and taciturn lighthouse keeper, she finds him incredibly rude and unfriendly. His easy-going assistant, Steve, unexpectedly shares his own disquieting concerns about Victor, and Lillie is only too happy to stay away.

But when Victor seeks her out, confiding his own troubling suspicions to Lillie, she realizes that everything is not as it seems.

One man hides a terrible, secret agenda, and Lillie seems to be caught in the middle…
