The Ordeal of Being Known by Malia Rose
How did they meet? Slightly dramatic individuals, Jess and Layla, meet so the golden boy of the NBA could commission the very talented, well-known artist, but they end up in a hospital by the end of the day because a mutual friend of theirs is injured. Each of them has a plan to nurse him back to health. It was supposed to be one of them, but a shared stubbornness forces them to coexist for a couple of weeks in the same apartment. To their utter dismay, the pair develop a slightly obsessive habit of watching each other all the time. Chaos fills the air, and a spark ignites that feels impossible to ignore. With the new season approaching and Layla provoking the media more than ever, Jess finds himself aching to unravel her secrets.
The ordeal of being known explores the loneliness of healing, the pain of acceptance, and the longing for being seen and known.
