Galatea's Curse by Iris Amador
Aphrodite loved being the centre of humans’ attention. She cursed those who denied her and rewarded those who worshipped her.

Unfortunately for Elise, she was the one cursed, forced to sell her body to the men of Cyprus and ultimately lose any honour she had.

Her fate only changes when King Pygmalion decides to make a statue of the perfect woman, and Elise is called to act as a muse. She ends up meeting the king’s servant, a shy man who stands in a corner of the workshop in growing embarrassment while Elise poses for the king.

The servant is so taken with Elise’s charms and character that he’s ready to sully his reputation for a chance at a life with her…

But Aphrodite isn’t done with Elise’s punishment: she returns to bring the statue to life.

And everything falls apart.
