Her father makes everything more complicated when she learns his secret as she tries to cope with Nicolai's raging emotions. At the same time she has Rick the local vampire hunter, and James; Nicolai's werewolf friend to deal with.

Volume 3: Risky Rendezvous picks up where Volume 2: Dark Encounters left off. Isabella is at war with herself. Her purpose is revealed when her mother comes to town. She doesn't know who she is or what she wants in life. The men in her life are complicating things further.
