How far would you go in order to find true love?

Catherine Alcott is well off and financially comfortable, used to having fine things and a beautiful home, but after the loss of her beloved husband, she has become a recluse for the most part. With the help of her closest friends, she begins to consider what it will take to find what she is missing in life—a new husband and children of her own. One of her friends suggests that she consider answering a mail order bride advertisement, and the idea intrigues Catherine.

After she reads an ad from an Amish man with a large family, she decides to take a chance, give up her tremendous wealth, and live a simpler life. It is a huge commitment, one that she will not take lightly, but her biggest fear is that she will fail to become the wife and mother they desire. There are rules and standards by which the Amish live, regulations she must follow in order to be accepted in the community. It is a lot of responsibility, but the reward is just as weighty.

She contemplated the newspaper closely, wondering if she would have the nerve to open it and look for an ad for a bride. The idea seemed so strange to her. Leaving behind everything she knew to meet and marry a stranger in some far off county or state?

She shook her head and took a sip of wine. Such a thing shouldn’t even be considered.

No longer a young man, David Miller has a large family and much work to be done in the average day. However, he also longs for the companionship of a wife, someone to help with the work and take care of the children…someone to help mend his broken heart. He has much to give a woman, but he desperately wants to find someone who is ready to become a part of the Amish community. To find the right woman, he receives the blessing of the community to place an ad in a newspaper, so long as he is honest about what the woman should expect.

The beautiful woman who answers his ad is not like he expected, tall and elegant, but ready to work hard and love his children like they were her own. His love for her begins to grow from the very beginning, but he understands that this life may be too hard for her—she may choose to go back to the life she left. If she does, she may take with her the hearts of the whole Miller family…

Will Catherine learn the right way to live to be accepted by the Amish culture?

Can David win the heart of the wealthy stranger before she chooses to go back to the city?
