Finding Leah: a Jewish novel by Chaya T. Hirsch
Chavy Diamond and Leah Kaplan’s friendship ended when Chavy left to Florida to start over. Now she’s back for college in New York and is determined not to let the past hold her back from living her life. But that’s not easy. Everywhere she turns, she’s reminded of what happened five years ago. As if that’s not enough, she meets the one person she never wanted to see again—Leah’s brother, Avi. Maybe coming back wasn’t such a good idea.

Leah has never gotten over the guilt for causing her former best so much pain years ago. Unhappy with her life, she lashes out at all those trying to help her. When she learns Chavy is back, she tells herself the best thing to do is stay out of her way. All that changes when Avi urges her to try to reconnect with Chavy, something Leah has wanted since the day Chavy left.

Can the two of them let go of the past and embrace a new future as friends?
