Dressed for the Game by Tamara Clarke
A woman in a wedding dress walks into a bar...

Injured professional hockey player Marek Svoboda isn't quite sure what to think when he first meets Kayley Mitchell at a bar. She's a beautiful bride but it quickly becomes clear that there's no wedding in her immediate future. Kayley is kind, smart, and Marek finds himself seeking her out every day as he recovers from his season-ending injury. He wonders when it's appropriate to make a move —because he definitely wants to— but Kayley isn't interested in romance after the disastrous end of her engagement.

After Kayley discovers her fiancé cheating on her, the last thing she wants is a new relationship. Not even a rebound hook-up, no matter how much her friend, Mel insists. She wants to move on with her life and convince her friends and family that she's not the same screw up who dropped out of college. Then Marek becomes her friend. Her best friend, in fact. She loves spending time with him and can't stop wondering why she's keeping him at arm's length.

As the summer heats up, so do things between Marek and Kayley. They might soon discover there's more between them than mere friendship but if neither is brave enough to take that chance, it could pass them by.
